FIND YOUR FUTURE IN GOD
(Incentives to Pray and Love God)
Weekly Theme: The Future With God – third post
Matthew 10:38,39
“And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”
In the last post we focused on losing our lives in God. In this post we want to focus on the future we find in God through losing our lives in Him. Far from losing self-awareness and the ability to live out our potential, when we fully surrender to God, we acquire amazing power to use our God given talents.
The main difference is that our desires change which redirects our potential to serve God. We desire what God desires and find our potential in the quests He lays out for us. We realize the deep satisfaction of the Holy Spirit working through us and the the joy of stretching ourselves to build God’s kingdom and bless others.
Furthermore, godly people often receive gifts and grow their natural talents through the power of God. A Moses who is naturally slow of speech may develop the power of crafting sentences that send terror to the heart a mighty Pharaoh. A Simon Peter who cowers before a maid and denies his Lord, may gain the boldness to stand before a Christ-hating Sanhedrin to declare “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29) when he is told not to so teach in Jesus’ name. A doubting Thomas may gain the faith and ability to persuade other doubters far and wide into other nations. Shy persons may gain the courage to stand before large crowds to proclaim the gospel as many contemporary preachers have.
Godly labors can gain the knack to become highly skilled beyond their natural ability. Christian technicians can receive God-given insight. Godly statesman can have the understanding to craft a constitution that propels the US to achieve in 200 years what it took nations before her 5000 years to accomplish (Read 5000 YEAR LEAP). This happened because over half of the framers of the constitution had deep biblical understanding as seminary graduates. Mothers and fathers can have the wisdom to lead their children in good paths they will not depart from (see Proverbs 22:6).
Yes, to lose our lives in God is to find an amazing future in the service of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!!!
