If you Obey

Key scripture – “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

Our God is a God of success. His plans for you are “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). You were created to be a success. Success is rooted not in our abilities, but in our relationship with God, when we obey Him, submit to His will, and stay in fellowship with Jesus. When our abilities are separated from our relationship with God, success is short-lived.

“All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock – the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you” (Deuteronomy 28:2-8).

Sometimes God allows you to fail in order for you to succeed, because each one of us must first experience our own death and resurrection from our old nature, so that we take up our cross and truly follow Christ and obey the Word of God, instead of following our own agenda. This is so that you learn Who the source of your strength is and who the source of true success is. You will be amazed at what happens when your life is in proper alignment with the purposes of God.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8).

Today, reaffirm your commitment to obey God and follow His ways in all that you do. This will insure God’s purposes will be fulfilled in you and you will experience His “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. (Jeremiah 29:11).

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. (Proverbs 2:6-8).

Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, I want be successful in Your eyes not by what the world thinks success is. I want Your blessings and in order to have that, I need to fully obey You, not partial obedience, not delayed obedience, but total immediate obedience. Father, pour Your wisdom on me, show me how to walk upright and blameless, lead me in paths of righteousness, and guard and protect me as I follow and obey You, so that I do not walk in step with the wicked, and stand in the way that sinners take, or sit in the company of mockers, but instead I delight in the law of the Lord and I meditate on Your word day and night. By doing that I will be like a tree planted by streams of water and I will yield fruits of righteousness in season and my leaf will never wither and whatever I do will prosper. (Psalm1:1-3). I am an oak of righteousness planted for the glory of the Lord. I seek You with all my heart. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
