Be still and know that I am God

Have you ever found yourself in a place of nothingness?
There is a time and place in our walk with God in which He sets us in a place of isolation and waiting. It is a place where all past experiences are of no value. Everything that worked in the past, will not fix this problem.
It is as if God has placed a wall around you. It is a time of such stillness that it can disturb the most faithful, if we do not understand and remember that God has brought us to this place for only a season, to grow our faith and trust in Him, and He is right there with us doing a thousand things that we can’t see.
During these times, God is calling us aside to fashion something new in us. It is designed to call us to deeper roots of prayer and faith and trust in Him. During this time, our mind cries out, “I must do something to fix this, but I don’t know what to do because nothing seems to work,” while God is saying, “Wait and be still and know that I am God.”
You will know when God has brought you to this place in your life, when He has removed things from your life and you can’t seem to change anything. It may be unemployment, an illness, financial problems, marital problems, that you can’t seem to fix, and you don’t even know where or how you would start to fix it.
That is when God is performing a deeper work in you. He brings you into a time of quietness, and you will not be able to see what He is doing, but you will know He is doing a work in you that cannot be explained to you or to others. “Do not be afraid for I am with you.” (Isaiah 44:5).
So you need to be still and really know and believe that He is God, and your nothingness will be turned into something that you value and treasure the rest of your life. It will be a time that you can point to as the turning point when your faith and trust in God completely changed and became real to you.
“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14).
“Be still in the presence of The Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” (Psalm 37:7).
“Now then, stand still and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your eyes!” (1 Samuel 12:16).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, You have taught me how to wait patiently for You, and even though it is hard, and seems impossible, I will look back and see that this is what changed my walk with You. That this is what drove my faith and trust in You to a deeper level. Because of this season, I will learn that what You say in Your Word is the absolute truth; That You never will abandon me; You never forsake the righteous; All Your promises, absolutely every one of them, are true and they do come to pass; I will taste and saw Your goodness for myself; I will learn that no weapon formed against me will prosper and every tongue that confesses judgment, I will prove to be wrong; that You fight for me; That the rivers will not overwhelm me, and the fire will not burn me or consume me; That You always deliver me from my troubles; I will not be overwhelmed because You hold my hand; You are my help and You sustain me; Each day You pour Your unfailing love upon me; That Your plans for me are for good not evil, for a future and hope; That all that I need to do is wait on You and trust and believe You, and I know, that I know, that I know, I will see all of my problems, including this one, work for my good and Your glory. “I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – my savior and my God!” (Psalm 42:5-6). In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
