ACTING LIKE GOD IS TELLING THE TRUTH!

Key scripture – “But the righteous shall live by faith.” (Hebrews 10:38).

This great statement, which is so abundantly true, was first stated in the book of Habakkuk, and in today’s Key scripture it is being quoted by the author of Hebrews.

When the prophet Habakkuk wrote it he was perplexed, because he lived in a day of violence, degradation, apostasy and danger (sound familiar). Therefore, he bombarded Heaven with prayers, asking God to answer and to explain things to him so that he could make sense of it all. But when God responded to him God essentially said, “Habakkuk, you couldn’t understand it if I told you what I’m up to. You think I’m not working, but I am, even if you can’t see it. In the meantime, while you are waiting for me to work things out, I want you to live in this uncertain age by faith. Don’t live by explanations, or human wisdom and opinions, instead, live by faith.”

This command that “the righteous shall live by faith” is not hocus-pocus or smoke and mirrors, it is our spiritual steel and concrete, because that is the only way to live. The only way we should live.

In fact, it is so important that we live by faith that that same verse…“the righteous shall live by faith” is also quoted in Galatians 3:11 and Romans 1:17. Since it is stated four times in the Bible, don’t you think God is trying to tell us something. I know for sure that He is! The challenge for us today—and every day—is to live by faith, and faith is simply ACTING LIKE GOD IS TELLING THE TRUTH!

Look back over last week, did you live by faith? Did you act like what God said in His Word is the truth or did you doubt God and His promises every time you were faced with a problem?

Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, I am so sorry for the times that I have not walked in faith and instead I lived by sight and reacted to my circumstances the way I thought I should instead of how You have told me to. I know that without faith I cannot please You. I am going to live like You are telling the truth. I will no longer live in fear and doubt. I will do what You say to do in Your Word, not what I think I should do or what the world says to do. No matter what my circumstances and problems are, I will never waiver, retreat or shrink back, instead I will stand firm and strong on Your promises. Like Habakkuk, I proclaim, “I will choose to rejoice in the Lord; I will choose to shout in exultation in the victorious God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength my source of courage, my invincible army; He has made my feet steady and sure like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk forward with spiritual confidence on my high places of challenge and responsibility.” (Habakkuk 3:18-19). I will walk by faith and not by sight because my God is a truthful God. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
