Be Present At The Precise Place

Genesis 22:9

They came, to the place which God had told him; Abraham built an altar there, laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Abraham took Isaac to Mount Moriah. Moriah is mentioned one other time in the Bible in 2 Chronicles 3:1 where the Lord had appeared to David and David had worshipped Him there with a sacrifice. Moriah is right on the outside of Jerusalem just as Mount Calvary is right on the outside of Jerusalem. Isaac was thirty-three when he was offered up. Jesus was also thirty-three years old when he was offered. Isaac received his name from his father. Jesus received his name from his father. Because Abraham and Sarah were very old, Isaac was a miracle child. So also Jesus was a miracle child as Mary had not been touched by a man. Isaac was obeying the voice of his father. Jesus said, “I’m doing the will of my father.” Isaac went up on the mountain with wood on his shoulder; Jesus went up on the mountain with wood on his shoulder. Isaac was laid on the wood on the mountain. Sin was laid on Jesus when he got to Mount Calvary. The only difference between the two is that Isaac came back down, but Jesus died on that hill called Mount Calvary.

God has a special place where he wants to bless you. But too many times we look for a blessing and we re out of place. In 1 Kings 17:4 God commanded the ravens to feed Elijah there by the brook; had he been anywhere else, he would have missed his meals. In 1 Kings 17:9 God told Elijah to move over to Zarephath of Zidon, where he had commanded a widow woman there to sustain him. God knows the right place for you to be so He can sustain you during the test. Some mountains are difficult to climb. But be willing to run all the way through pain and heartache, scorned by loved ones with maybe just a little sunshine ever now and then as Abraham did. I thank my Father for the privilege and for keeping and providing for His own.
