Obedient To The Faith

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

You start off flying, but then Isaiah says you shall run and not be weary. You move from a fly to a run and even to a walk. You start off flying, then slow down to running, and then even slower to a walk. When I was saved, I wanted everybody to know Jesus. Everywhere I went I was witnessing and passing out pamphlets. After a while when people started taking a little air out of me, I slowed down from a fly to a run. When people cut me to pieces, I moved from a run to a walk. But at least, stay on the floor and continue doing what God called you to do.

Some people give up hanging around the church because there are some things that aren’t right. Have you ever noticed Noahs story? Noah went in the ark with two of every kind of beast; they closed the door and closed the window. I would imagine it was pretty stinky in that ark with lions, bears, elephants, hippopotamus, and skunks. But in spite of it getting nasty in there, Noahs family didn’t come out. They hung on in there. Sometimes in church it gets kind of nasty when you get through with lies and backbiting and all that. It gets kind of rough, but you don’t leave. You hang on in there because hear me when I tell you God keeps a detergent that can get the stain out.

We have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith. Not faith but the faith. There’s a difference in saying the faith over and against saying faith. When you say the faith, you are talking about the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But when you say faith you are talking about the faith movement. If you take tackling and running out of football, it ceases to be football. If you take obedience out of Christianity, it is no longer Christian. Be obedient to the faith!
