Orderly Prayer Appointments

Daniel 6:11

Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

Praying time. One of the great weapons that every believer has is that of prayer. It is very easy to pray and to communicate with our Heavenly Father. I don’t know where I would be if it were not for prayer, if I didn’t know how to talk to God and listen for him to talk back to me. All of us need to know that prayer is in order. Prayer is like a boat throwing its anchor to the land. Someone takes hold of the anchor and reels the ship in to the land. You never find anybody reeling the land out to the ship. Prayer is like that. When you pray, it’s like taking the anchor of faith and throwing it up to God. When you start reeling, you don’t reel God down to you. You actually reel yourself up to God. When you get through praying, things look a little clearer for you. Your burdens get a little lighter. Your pathway becomes brighter after talking to the Lord.

Daniel was a fellow that was familiar with prayer. He was a good example that all of us could pattern our lives after, especially when we are going through a crisis. Daniel was an upright and straightforward man. The name Daniel means God will judge. Dan means judge and el stands for God. Regardless of what people may say, judgment day is coming. On earth if you get in trouble, you get a good attorney. Your attorney can get you off in spite of your being guilty, because the attorney goes by what he thinks and what you say. But God is not like that. God knows your thoughts before you think them. He not only sees what you are doing, He also knows what you are thinking. He doesn’t judge us based only upon what we do; he also judges us based upon how we think. So be careful not to use reckless thoughts. Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Jesus went to a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 6:12)
