God does what He plans
Laura Ingle Key scripture – “For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?” (Isaiah 14:27)
Do you know that God does what He plans, and nothing can keep Him from it? His purpose will always be fulfilled.
Think about who God is. He’s the Supreme Being of the universe, the Creator of everything, the Author of life. He’s omnipotent, all powerful. If God decides to do something, what could possibly thwart His purpose? Nothing!
Some Christians are afraid of God’s power, as if it could mean disaster for them. But they should never fear His power because He tells us in His Word that only those who are opposed to God’s purpose need to fear his power. “Those who believe in the Son will bask in eternal life, but those who disobey the Son will never experience life. They will know only God’s lingering wrath (John 3:36 ). “The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.” (Psalm 1:4-6). “To those who seek to please God, He gives wisdom and knowledge and joyfulness; but to those who are wicked, God keeps them busy harvesting and storing up for those in whom He delights.” (Ecclesiastes 2:26). If you’re building your life around God’s purposes in this world, then you can rest assured that all of God’s power stands behind you, ready to support His work through you. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6).
If you don’t have a clear sense right now of what God’s purpose is for you, pray and ask Him, and build your life around the purposes of God that are true for every Child of God: He wants you to honor Him with your life; to speak of Jesus to others; to give Him the credit for what He does in your life; to make disciples; to take up Jesus’ cross on a daily basis; and to pursue a deeper relationship with Him each day by spending time with Him in prayer and in His Word.
God is reassuring you through this Key scripture today that He’s dependable; His promises are true and reliable because “God is not a man, so he does not lie, he is not human so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Or has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19 NLT); therefore, you don’t need to be nervous about following His will in your life because “God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. (Psalm 54:4). You need to always remember, if God is for you, who can be against you. “The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me.” (Psalm 118:6).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, I truly commit my ways to You, I trust You, I will not lean on my own understanding, I will acknowledge You in all that I do and I know as sure as the air that I am breathing that You will direct and make smooth my paths, and make my righteous reward shine lie the dawn and my justice like the noon day sun. I stand firm on Your promises, I will not cower, shrink back, or run because I am covered by the blood of Jesus and the same power that brought Jesus up from the grave lives in me. You said in Your Word that even though the mountains around me are shaking and the hills are being removed, Your unfailing love for me will not be shaken and Your covenant of peace will never be removed (Isaiah 54:10, NIV). I believe that and I stand firm on that promise, and all of Your other promises. I know that when I cry out, You hear me, and You deliver me from all my troubles.” (Psalm 34:17 NIV). Thank You for Your constant Faithfulness! In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
