Ignore The Obstacles

Mark 10:51

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

Jesus called for Bartimaeus. You are where you are because the Lord called for you. We did not choose him, He chose us. Ephesians 1:4 says According as He has chosen us. God acted alone. The word He is in the middle voice indicating God acted not only by Himself but also for himself. God chooses us by himself and also for himself. That’s why God doesn’t want you to be down and out all the time; you have been chosen for him. You should spotlight the Lord wherever you go. When others observe your ways and attitudes, they ought to be able say, “There goes a child of the King.” They should desire the same close walk you have with the Lord. Even though you may not know what the future holds, you know who holds the future. But it’s hard for folk to see you with the Lord if you are always grumbling and complaining. It makes no difference how dark things are, God never panics. He can take a crooked stick and hit a straight lick.

Now whenever you come to the Lord for a blessing, there will always be some obstacles. There will be some hindrance to keep you from getting to the Lord. Here, the crowd charged him to shut up and stop the noise. And these were not outsiders; they were Christ-following folk, people that were following Jesus everywhere he went. Have you ever sat beside someone in church who rolled their eyes at you because you were making too much noise?

Jesus asked, “What do you want man? He quickly answered, “Lord, that I might receive my sight.” He didn’t just come to Jesus; he came to Him with faith. He had faith to believe that Jesus could make a difference in his life. Do you have faith in the Lord today to believe that He can make a difference in your life?
