He who is without sin among you…
 Laura Ingle
Laura Ingle Key scripture – Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:10-11NIV)
Do you know that God does not just want to forgive your sin; He wants to change your life?
We are all like the story of the woman in John Chapter 8, because we all deserved to be stoned for our sins, but instead of stoning and condemning us, Jesus took our place and died for us. All our sins were nailed to the Cross with Him, so that through Him we are forgiven and have eternal life.
“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said.“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:3-11).
The fact that Jesus didn’t condemn this woman’s sin does not mean that He didn’t care about it. His intention was not to condemn her but to redeem her life from the destructive nature of that sin, and it is the same for you and me. Jesus is ready, willing and able to pour out His mountain of grace on your life which is so much greater than all your sin.
The beginning of your restoration, and the foundation of all future spiritual growth in your life, is for you to come back to step one of all spiritual growth. Bring your life, and especially that area of sin in your life back under the total commitment of the leadership of Jesus Christ. Confess that sin, repent, and turn away from it, and let Jesus, The Lord, start healing that area in your life.
When you do that you will feel the growth process begin to operate once again, and you will be like the tree in Psalm 1…”You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun. No matter what you do, you prosper” (v.3).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, what a Precious wonderful gift You gave us when You gave Your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins so that we have eternal life. I thank You that You are so good and loving. You gave us; Your Promises, Your Love, Your Compassion, Your Tenderness, Your Presence, Your Goodness, Your Patience, Your Kindness, Your Forgiveness. Your Mercy, Your Faithfulness, Your Strength, Your Protection, Your Power, Your Spirit, Your Hope, Your Righteousness, Your Justice, Your Name, Your Blessings, and Your Favor. How could we not worship and praise You all the time. Like David, I will, “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:1-5). I worship Your Holy Name, Jesus. Praise The Lord!! In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
