Recognize The Present

Recognize The Present

Revelation 3:3

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

If there ever was a time we needed to be right with God, it’s now. We’re living in a day of guided missiles and misguided men. In a day where folks know more about bombs and bullets than they know about the Bible. In a day where we practice more politics than we practice prayer. In a day of switching; from God to gold; from grace to grass; from soul sense to science. We’ve done some switching so if there ever was a time that we need to recognize where we are, it’s now. God has put this in our hands; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven; forgive them of their sins and heal their land.

So God says to remember the past, recognize the present; and be ready for the future. Otherwise, He will come to you as a thief. Now notice when the Lord comes to get the saints, he’s not coming as a thief; he’s coming as a bridegroom. He’s coming to get those of us that are ready to go. But when you’re not ready, he says “I’ll come as a thief in the night.” And a person isn’t comfortable knowing that a thief is coming because you don’t know how a thief is going to react when you catch him even in your own house. You may have to shoot him or he’ll shoot you. Or when you’re nodding, that’s when he’ll show up. You’re not ready for a thief at any time, but we’ll be ready for the bridegroom if we are seeking our Savior. He says, “Look, you’ve got to recognize that the future is right before you. If you don’t get it right, I’ll come as a thief in the in the night.”
