Think about Noah’s spiritual life

Key scripture -“Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided” (Genesis 8:1)
When we talk about Noah’s life, we tend to focus on the ark, but I want to turn your attention to Noah’s spiritual life for a moment. It had probably gotten pretty old for Noah, his wife, his children, and all those animals inside the ark. The sea can be a lonely place, and they had been inside the ark for approximately a year.
I wonder if Noah ever doubted during that time and thought: “Was this a good idea? Is this really what I should have done? What is going on?” Since Noah hadn’t heard anything from the Lord, did he wonder whether God had really spoken to him and if he had heard God correctly?
Genesis 8 answers all of Noah’s questions: “Then God remembered Noah. . . .” This isn’t implying that God had forgotten about him. Rather, it is using our language to help us get a picture of God. The Lord didn’t forget about Noah, and the Lord doesn’t forget about us, either. God is just showing us that sometimes He works very quickly and in a dramatic way in our lives delivering us out of our difficulties and distress, and sometimes, like Noah, months and maybe years go by before He delivers us.
As a Christian, we have all experienced the times when we have to live by faith and trust, while we are waiting on God to answer our prayers. It is during that time that we start wondering, “Is God even paying attention anymore? Does He care about what is going on in my life? Has He forgotten me?” I am here to tell you that He is paying attention and He does care. He appoints us a set time and remembers us. (Job 14:13).
We all need to remember that God always finishes what He starts. That is why He is called the author and finisher of our faith. Philippians 1:6 says, “Being confident of this. He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion unto the day of Jesus Christ.”
So if you are waiting on God, just hold your course. Just carry on and keep doing the last thing He told you to do, and be faithful there. Don’t run ahead of Him. Don’t sit around complaining and being a gloomy Gus. Don’t lean on your own understanding. Remember you can’t see the whole picture, only God can, so trust Him. He is working behind the scenes, and when He is ready He will show you what He has planned for you.
Right now God is doing a thousand different things to resolve your problem, so be silent and wait patiently for the Lord. “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14).
You need to remember that God is God and because He is God He is worthy of our trust and obedience. You will find rest nowhere else but in His Holy will, a will that is unspeakably beyond your largest notions of what He is up to. So don’t run ahead, instead commit your ways to Him and trust Him, and He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn and your justice like the noon day sun. (Psalm 37:5-6).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, forgive me for all the times that I have run ahead of You and tried to fix it myself only to create more of a mess. Forgive me for complaining and having a pity party because of what I was going through. My faith and trust in You and Your Names give me the strength, courage, patience, steadfastness, and endurance to wait on You. Father, You are good, all good things come from You, You love me, Your plans for me are for good and not evil, for a future and a hope, You will never forsake or abandon me, Your promises are true, You never change, and You will always take care of me. When fear and doubt try to take over my thoughts I need to stop and remember that those are all lies straight from the pit of hell, which I refuse to listen to. Instead, I will fill my mind with these promises, while I wait on You: “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you or abandon you. (Deuteronomy 31:8). “But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” (Exodus 14:13-14). “The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people.” (Psalm 118:6-8). “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:13-14) “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:5). “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8) In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
