Born To Praise

Psalms 150:6

Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

It’s amazing how God can take a little of nothing and do so much with so little. Mathematics is made up often numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0. If you can master these ten numbers you can handle geometry trigonometry and algebra. As matter of fact anything you calculate deals with these ten numbers. I didn’t know what my teacher was doing when she started me off counting 1 to 10, but if I can master these ten numbers, I can master the rest of them. Even in the realm of music there are only 12 notes – five black notes and seven white notes – and with these notes you can literally revolutionize planet earth through the arena of music. In literature we have 26 letters in our English alphabet. Only 26, but with these 26 letters we can build libraries. We can train minds and open schools. We can read the word of God with just 26 letters.

He used 10 numbers and 26 letters and he joined the music and brought together two worlds for one reason and that is to praise God. Our number one purpose on planet earth is to praise God. Regardless of what you think you’re here for, the first thing he wants us to get clear is that we have to learn how to praise him. The word tailors the truth for us to help us learn what praise is all about and why we should praise the Lord. And of course if we don’t praise on our own, God will fix it so we will. I heard him say that there will be a time when “every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess.” He said He has some rocks prepared with some special tongues that will cry out praises to Him. I don’t know how you feel about, but I don’t need a rock to cry for me. God has done enough for me and I am aware of what he has done to make me mindful of the fact that I need to spend time praising him. Just thank him for waking you this morning and giving you a place to praise Him.
