Are you living thoughtfully and intentionally or just automatically?
Laura Ingle Key scripture- “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare” (Psalm 25:8-15).
Are you living thoughtfully and intentionally or just automatically?
Pastor Charles Stanley says, it’s so easy to get up each morning, do your work, enjoy some relaxation or entertainment, and fall into bed each night without giving any thought to God’s involvement in your life. But to go through life, and be ignorant of how God has blessed, loved, guided, protected, and warned you is a foolish way to live.
There are great benefits to keeping your spiritual eyes and ears open throughout the day. Those who are aware of the Lord’s presence during their daily activities and listening to Him, enjoy the peace of knowing that He is always in control and working to accomplish His good purposes in their life. Their every day experiences with God teach them to know Him and love Him more and more.
When you learn to see God’s footprints all throughout the day and in all your circumstances, you will become aware of the scope of His involvement in your life. You will see when He strengthened you for a task or opened a door of opportunity, or when He guided your decisions or helped you respond in a godly way to a difficult person, or when He protected you and provided for you by meeting your needs or when man’s rejection of you was actually God’s protection. If your ears and eyes are open to the Lord’s warnings and instructions, which are provided for you in His Word, you won’t repeat the same mistakes over and over and over again. But if you are deaf to His voice, you will continue in unhealthy thought patterns and actions, negative emotions, and foolish responses.
Each night before you go to sleep, take some time to reflect on the day’s activities and give thanks to the Lord because He is constantly with you, guarding and guiding your way. The Lord wants you to see Him in everything and understand life from His perspective as you rely on His wisdom and power to face every challenge and problem in your life.
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father,
You are fair and just, and I thank You for correcting me when I am misdirected and for sending me in the right direction by taking my hand, and leading me step-by-step. You guide me into what is right and teach me Your way as You lead me in paths of Righteousness. I know that all Your ways are loving and faithful. My ears are open to Your warnings and instructions. My eyes are ever on You. Help me to understand and apply the knowledge of God in every aspect of my life. As I face challenges today, I will give each one to You, by coming before You in prayer and saying, “Father, I don’t know what to do about _______. I admit I am scared, but instead of living in fear, I have faith in You so I give this problem and my fear to You. I can’t handle this, but You can. Show me what I need to do and what it looks like to trust You with this problem. Thank You for hearing me and answering my prayer. I will be still and wait patiently for You.” In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
