A Closer Look

Revelation 1:7

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him…

Every eye shall see him. Jesus will wake up some people that are already dead. He will visit every cemetery funeral home, and hospital because every eye will see Him. Those who did not accept Him and the ones that pierced Him will have to look at Him also. Can you imagine his enemies standing, looking at the Lord with eyes like flames of fire and feet like polished brass, his voice sounding like many trumpets? Jesus isn’t going to just slip in quietly.

I long to see Him. When no else would look at me, he saw me. When no one else would pay me any attention, the Lord did. He didn’t look at who I was; he looked at what he could make out of me. When everybody else said, you’re nothing, you’re nobody, Jesus said, “I can take that person, and I can do something with him.

The next reason I want to see Him is because I get tired sometimes of talking to somebody and haven’t got a face to go along with it. Every now and then, somebody tries to paint a picture of Jesus. They paint Him looking like a sissy without any scars in His hands and long hair on His back. A man who has been living in the desert and in the wilderness would not have that type of appearance. I don’t think we’ve got the right picture. If you go in a white church, he looks white; in a black church, he looks black; in a Chinese church, he looks Chinese, etc. But one of these days, I’ll be able to look at Him face to face. Do you want to see him? The man that died for me, the man that set us free. Hallelujah! Oh, I want to see Him.

Every eye will be focused on him on that day. People will not be watching their favorite football hero or movie star or looking at the stock market report, but every eye will be on the Lord Jesus. We will personally see him.
