A Publication Of Power
Isaiah 34:16
Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read…
There is power in the book. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. The Greek word for power is exousia which means authority. God has given His authority to His saints. Now what kind of authority do we have? We have authority to do two things. (1) We can direct divine power; (2) We can destroy demonic power. Directing divine power is merely praying. You don’t have to be at a persons door to pray and get deliverance. No, you can pray here and God can hear you in New York. If you’ve got a person up there in need of prayer, you don’t have to travel there and lay your hands on him. You can pray where you are, “Lord my child up there needs you to deliver him.” And don’t you know God will hear. He will hear because you have the authority to direct divine power.
But you also have the authority to destroy demonic powers. You see the devil thinks he has power, but you’ve got power because God put power at your disposal. Acts 1:8 says Ye shall receive power. The church, the called out one, shall receive power The Greek word for power is dunamis, from which we get the word dynamite. One thing we know about dynamite is that it rearranges whatever it comes in contact with. So the Lord takes his authority, places it behind his “called-out church” and then equips the church with His dunamis or His power. Everywhere I go I have power to direct divine authority, but I also have power to destroy demonic authority. When the devil comes up on me I don’t have to out run him. I can resist that old devil and I can rebuke him in the name of the Lord and the devil will do the running. You have power to destroy demons and demonic powers. Don’t talk about how you can’t get away from the devil. You can. Just stand on the word of God, because Gods word has all power.
