An Attack On The Church
Ephesians 3:21
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Satan has many plans to attack the church through his devious designs. But the first thing I must do if I am going to be victorious over this attack on the church is that I must stay with the church of God even if I run into something I do not like. We know the church should become not become a fashion show displaying the garments of self-righteousness. It should not be a convalescent home where people just sit around and wait to die or a motel where people just pass through on their way to somewhere else. A church should not be a vacation spot where people only come once or twice a year. A church should not be a zoo where people are simply amused at everything that happens or a museum where people only remember what it used to be like. The church should not be a factory where the workers do only that for which they get paid and nothing else. The church should not be a storm cellar where people enter only during the time of a storm. Satan also desires for the church to become a social club where members gather to gossip and grumble about everything and everybody.
I made up in my mind that I’m going to stay with something that will last. I’m with something that the world can’t harm. Satan would have to pull down all the stars in order to destroy the church because Jesus is a bright and morning star. I don’t where I would be if it weren’t for the church of the Living God. When I am down and out, barely making it, if I can just make it to the house of the Lord somebody will shake my hand and say, “I’m praying for you Reverend.” unaware of what I am going through. Somebody will say we’ve come this far by faith leaning on the everlasting arms. Jesus said, “Upon this rock I’ll build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The devil might shake us, but he can’t destroy us.
