Avoid The Blot
Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
I am an overcomer. I’m not going to let anything stop me from reaching the goal God has called me to reach. An overcomer shall be clothed in white raiment and will not have his name blotted out of the Book of Life. I’m glad that he’s not going to blot out my name. Let me tell you how that works if you will. You see when you’re born the first time, God will put your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. In other words the Lord doesn’t want anybody to go to hell. However, if you don’t accept Him as your Savior, he will blot out your name just as you are departing this life. Look at Exodus 32:32 where Moses says, “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin-; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.” Yet now if the Lord will forgive their sin- and then there’s a blank there. That’s the only time in the whole Bible you’ll ever see a blank because Moses had never heard of anybody forgiving sin before. Verse 33 And the Lord said unto Moses, whosoever hath sinned against me, him would I blot out of my book.
In Luke 10:20 the disciples were excited because they had cast devils out of some troublesome people. Jesus told them not to brag about casting out any devils, but to rejoice that their names were written in the Book in Heaven. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 21:27 speaks of the great city: “There shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie, but (only) they which are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” I may not be in Who’s Who, but I’m glad I decided a long time ago to make Jesus my choice so when that day comes, he won’t blot out my name.
