Bad Blood

Hebrews 9:22

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Every one of us is related by blood. Regardless of what race, creed or color you came from, all of us are children of Adam. We came from Adam and Eve and then we came down through the lineage of Noah. That means that our daddy was a drunkard and a liar. You can’t expect much out of us if we came from a family like that. It’s in the blood. We came from a line of people of that nature. If you follow the line long enough you will discover that you are related to the person sitting next to you.

I grew up in the country. My mother and father were sharecroppers on a farm. The house where we lived had on one spot of ground apple trees, peach trees, pear trees, plum bushes, vines, wild onions, Bermuda grass, Johnson grass, four-leaf clovers, some poke salad all from the same ground. You can have one Adam or one ground. But you can have some red folk, some black folk, some brown folk, and some yellow folk coming from the same ground. We all came from the same family. Because of this, we are contaminated by our ancestors. Prior to the sin in the garden man was innocent. But after Adam sinned, his blood became contaminated. Sin got in the blood line of all his descendants. That’s why his son Cain rose up and slew Abel – because of the stuff that was in his blood. Abraham lied because sin was in the blood.

You wonder why men go out drinking, acting like babies on bottles. Or people will go out to places where they have happy hour. Now what’s so happy about losing your composure? When you go in, you know where you parked your car; when you come out, you don’t know where it is. There’s nothing happy about stuff like that. Folk get mad and lose their temper the same as Moses did years ago. It’s in the blood. We need a transfusion!
