Key scripture – “He [the Lord] spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies and the statute that He gave them.” (Psalm 99:7).

Obedience is the response that we need to have to God and His Word all of the time.

It is very important that we remember that God is the one who sits on the throne of the universe. He alone is The Lord God Almighty, the Maker of Heaven and earth. (Isaiah 37:16).

He is the One around whom all things revolve. He is God and we are just creatures. We are so wrong when we take God’s directions for life as mere guidelines or suggestions. We act like we can make the decision to follow them if we feel like it. God gave us commands not suggestions in His Word. God is not asking us for our opinions regarding whether we want to obey what He says to do or not do in His Word.

The reality is that there are two ways of living the life before us. Deuteronomy 28 tells us one way leads to life, blessings and fullness of joy. The other way leads to frustration, emptiness and a wasted life.

““And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God… “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you.” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 15).

Today God is inviting you to live a life of obedience to Him. If you choose to keep just enough Christianity to appease your conscience, but still live for yourself, you will come to the end of your life full of regret at how you wasted it. If you are living a life where you are keeping one foot in the Word of God and one foot in the world, you need to stop and respond completely to God’s invitation to you today and bring your whole life under His leadership.

“For I am the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—the Lord Almighty is his name. I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand—I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’” (Isaiah 51:15-16).

Today, start listening when God speaks and obey Him immediately and completely.

Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, You are the Center of everything. Jesus is The Word, everything began with Him, and all things were made through Him. (John 1:1-3). Father, no one is like You because You are, The Lord Gold Almighty and your faithfulness surrounds you. (Psalm 89:8). I worship You Lord, and praise Your Mighty Name. I bring all of my life under Your leadership and I hold nothing back. Give me the strength and wisdom to live in complete obedience to You. Your Word is Your Will and I want Your Will to be my will, therefore, I will obey Your Word. I know that the only way I can obey it is to know Your Word, and I will do that by reading and meditating on it. Father, I commit all of my life and all of my ways to You. I hold nothing back. I give You complete control of my life. Holy Spirit give me the understanding, discernment, and the wisdom to apply the Word of God to every area of my life. In Jesus, The Living Word’s Name, I pray, Amen.
