Be Prepared
Acts 1:11
Which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shad so come in tike manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Several years ago our National Convention was held in New York City and our headquarters was the hotel right in front of Madison Square Garden. Forty thousand delegates came to New York for the convention and when I arrived, there were people sitting all out in front of the hotel and in the lobby, trying to get reservations When I walked in, I stepped around the people that were in the lobby and those standing in line. I walked up and gave them my name and they gave me my room key in spite of the other people. I had reservations ahead of time. I didn’t know how crowded it would be, but I didn’t want to take any chances.
And I tell you that I don’t know how it’s going to be when the Lord returns, but you will do well if you take a few moments to make a reservation because sooner or later you’ll have to check out of here. The sooner the preparations are made, the better your life will be.
If God didn’t do anything else for me on planet earth, I could praise him from now on because he brought me farther than I ever dreamed of going. I’ve traveled all over the country. I’ve seen everything I want to see. I don’t know anything else I want to see. I don’t know another building I want to see. I don’t know another state or country I would rather go to than Heaven. There are no famous people that I’m looking forward to seeing. If I don’t accomplish anything else, God has been good to me. And many of you can say the same thing. I may not live in a big mansion, but within the little dwelling I have, I have peace on the inside. When you think about what God has done for you and the ways He has brought you and kept you and delivered you. I tell you, it’s enough to be thankful for.
