Be Ready

Be Ready
Matthew 24:44
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Be ye also ready. This is not our home; we can leave here at any moment. If you wake up every other person in the grave that didn’t get saved before they died, they will tell you, “I was aiming to get it together, but I put if off too long.” If the Lord would come in the next thirty minutes – and he can, would you be ready? Or would the Lord catch you out of place? Do you have somebody to whom you need to apologize? Are there secret sins that you have been intending to get rid, of but you decided to wait? Do you have grudges on somebody?
Be strong. You can not make it if you’re not strong. A brother owns a gym called The Body Center. The gym has all the stuff you need to build your body. But when the Lord gets ready to make you strong, he doesn’t have you pumping iron; instead he lets you go through adversities in life. He enrolls you in the school of hard knocks. You see, you make sissies out of children when you don’t let them have a few hard knocks. A child has to be able to stumble and fall and even get a bruise or need a bandage once in a while. If he doesn’t fall now, he won’t know how to handle it when he falls later.
Falling is good for you. Doors closed in your face really helps you out. Needing something and having nobody there to respond is good for us. We do more harm to people than good when we help them every time they need aid. They’ll stop trying to rely on God and start knocking your door down. If you’re going to be strong, you have to go through some things in life. In basic training, you train in both hot and cold weather. Then they have you train in rainy weather. You just might be in war in the rain. And if you didn’t train in the rain you might back up if you have to fight in the rain. Be prepared and ready!
