Christ Stood Again

1 Corinthian 15:4

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Jesus rose again the third day. Even at his death, Jesus was fulfilling the scripture. Too many of us are trying to do stuff that’s not according to the scripture. People want to change things to fit todays lifestyles. You hear people say “You know, this is the twenty-first century.” Nevertheless, the scripture remains the same. Principles of Gods word are the same as they were when our ancestors lived. His word continues to apply to our daily lives and situations.

Everything that Christianity is based upon is hanging on his death, burial, and resurrection. Nothing is anymore important than the fact that He died, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day. That’s the gospel. If that’s not the truth, if Christ be not risen, then your faith is in vain and you are still in your sin. (1 Corinthians 15:17) If Jesus didn’t get up, nobody is saved. If Jesus didn’t get up, then nobody has the Holy Ghost. If Jesus didn’t get up, Moses and Joshua and all the old prophets were liars. But I am so glad HE DID GET UP!

Jesus was smart enough to know to let people see Him after He got up. Jesus wanted them to know He had risen from the dead. He was seen by many. Peter saw him before He died and he got a chance to see him again after He arose. Then all twelve got a chance to see him after his resurrection. After that, He was seen by about 500 brethren at one time. Then all the apostles saw Jesus. And last of all, He was seen by Paul.

I’m glad that I’m not ashamed of the fact that He died, He rose again and he was buried for your sins and for mine. Because he lives I can face tomorrow. Because he lives all my fears are gone. I know he holds my future and life is worth living just because he lives. I haven’t seen him yet, but I know he lives. He walks and talks with me. I am His.
