Come to Me
Key scripture – Jesus said, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30).
Did you know that you can start today being on top of your past, your circumstances and your problems?
You do not have to live in guilt and shame anymore, because Jesus already died to set you free. If you want that freedom then take up His yoke right now.
Did you know that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have already conquered all current and future problems?
“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37).
“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4).
Did you know that you have been given authority to tread on your spiritual enemies, which are referred to as serpents and scorpions in the Bible. This is an offensive power that you have. Satan and the evil spirits have no power over you, because of Jesus, and nothing can injure you.
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.” (Luke 10:19).
Did you know that things will come against you, but you will not drown or be burned or be destroyed by them, instead you will come out on the other side purified like gold. You will be completely in tact and you will not even smell like smoke.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.” (Isaiah 43:2).
God gives us the power to be godly in an ungodly world. To forgive people who have hurt us. To do what is right and act righteous. To be a blessing. We just need to call on that power. In order to do that you need to understand that you are weak and that you need to put all your weight on the strength of God.
“And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9).
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead and ascended Him to heaven lives in everyone of us who are Christians, therefore, we have a spirit of power over the enemy. So instead of acting like it is not there, we need to use that power to act and behave like Jesus wants us to. Which means we are to love people and control ourselves.
“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and self discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7).
If we do it God’s way, we may feel fear, but we don’t let fear get control of us and stop us from doing the right thing. You can always conquer fear by doing the right thing, which is what you know God wants you to do in the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. (1 Peter 5:8-10).
You have to be aggressive against the enemy. Don’t be a lazy Christian don’t give up so easy. Remember who is on your side, The Lord God Almighty, The Maker of Heaven and Earth.
In order to know who God is, what He has promised, and what He will do for you, you have to read the Word of God. To be able to stand firm and to fight the enemy you have got to take in mega doses of the Word of God so open your Bible and start reading it today.
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, thank You for the freedom, power and strength that I have through Jesus. I will never give up and I will never give in. I will not be a lazy Christian. I know that there is a spiritual battle going on all the time and the biggest targets of the enemy are Christians who are not just hearers of the Word but doers of the Word. I also have nothing to fear because I already know how all this will end, GOD WINS! HALLELUJAH!! Through Jesus, God has given us victory over sin and death. “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). Father, thank You for the power I have through Jesus to crush Satan under my feet. “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” (Romans 16:20). I will not fear the evil people or bad circumstances that come against me, instead I will be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that I am strong and courageous and my toil is not in vain in the Lord. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
