Conformed By The Storm
Psalm 107:29
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Many storms come along in our lives. Maybe you are having difficulty in saying goodbye to lost loved ones. One funeral happened not long ago, but now you are going through it all again. You know you love the Lord, but this is a situation that’s hard to handle. There are others of you that have to wrestle with your own children. You’ve gone out of your way to try to give them the best you could possibly give them. But it looks like your best is not good enough. You may be in a marital situation and you really don’t know what to do. You want to stay; you want to leave. You want to hold on and you want to walk away. You try to do the best you possibly can to love the people you love. But every time you try to love somebody, they mistreat you. Every time you get somebody in your arms or get somebody in your heart they break it; you’re just tired of being hurt over and over and over again. You have been overlooked on your job. You’ve tried to work hard. You’ve tried to be an honest person because you love the Lord. You’ve done things that other people around there would not do. You’ve stood your ground. But everyone is getting promoted except you.
The Lord allows storms in our lives because he wants us to be conformed to the image of his Son. He wants us to favor Jesus. That’s why He has to take us through a storm. When he gets through with us, we’ll be just like his dear Son. Be prepared for a devilish storm but look for a deliverance from the Savior. Relief will come. Hang on a little longer; don’t give up. If you’re slipping, tie a knot in the end of the rope and hold on. Use the truths of God’s word to understand what God is doing, even in your own personal lives. Storms will come, but they will pass over. He is the master of the storm.
