Cookies And Cream
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Many of us live beneath our privileges. We think we’ve gone as far we can in life. However, your heavenly Father is rich in houses and in land. Romans 8:32 says that if he spared not his own son but offered him up for us, how much more will he freely give us all things. 1 Timothy 6:17 says he will give us richly all things to enjoy. Earthly parents often struggle to supply the needs of their children. But when they move from a struggle to middle class living, they go beyond the needs and give the child some of the things that the child wants. God allows the cup to run over so that you will have more than enough. Psalms 24:1 says the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell there in. So sometimes we just might be living beneath our privileges because we did not ask our heavenly Father for what we want or need.
Often God will put us on a waiting list if He sees that we are not ready to handle the blessings. God has to keep some of us where He can keep his hand on us. It does not diminish the power of God or the ability of God to supply those needs. But sometimes God can handle us better walking than riding, because we might ride right on by the house of God. When we have our own place of luxury, we will think that’s our little heaven when God has something much bigger for us. God wants us to have the foundation in place before He goes up with the super structure. Before going home, you have to touch first base. First base to us is being born again. Before we look for cars, cash, clothes, creature comforts, and a cottage in the country, He wants us to be born again. You can have religion and still be lost. God wants you to have a personal relationship with Him. When you are born again and have a personal relationship with Jesus, everything else become cookies and cream.
