Don’t Miss Out
Revelation 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him; and they also which pierced him: and all the kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
I know that many of us are sitting here comfortably satisfied in our dilemma or situation. We don’t have a worry or a care in the world. But when I read this passage, and I looked at it every day last week at least two or three times a day, my heart would get so tender to the point that it almost started bleeding. So many of us are so eager trying to get; trying to accumulate; trying to be who’s who, and what’s what, that we re overlooking the fact that “he’s coming.” Whenever I see this, I have mixed emotions because I know that when he comes, some will not be ready. And it could hit close to home. It doesn’t bother us very much when they pick up people across the street or down the road. But when death comes to our house and invades the privacy of our own families, it’s different.
The text says, “Behold He cometh.” The book of Revelation is written using many pronouns instead of the nouns. The Lord seems to say, “You ought to know by now who it is that’s coming.” Revelation 1:4-18 speaks very specifically concerning Jesus and who He is. At that point, He is saying, “I shouldn’t have to mention my name on every occasion.”
He says every child of God that’s born again knows him. And so the text says that He wants to spend some time telling us what’s getting ready to happen. Behold, he cometh. There will be some that won’t want to meet him-the ones that don’t know him and haven’t departed from their sins. They will run to the rocks and beg the rocks to fall on them. Can you imagine a person running from death and being unable to even kill himself? It will be an awesome day when the Lord returns again.
