Every Eye Shall See Him
Revelation 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him; and they also which pierced him: and all the kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Not only good eyes will see Him, but bad eyes will see Him. People that were born blind will be able to see Him. Some of the people that live in countries where they never had a chance to preach the gospel or hear the gospel preached will be able to see Him. Two or three people in the Bible already saw him.
Do you remember Isaiah? He said, In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord. He was high and lifted up. His train filled the temple. Seraphims stood with six wings, with two wings, they veiled their face, with two wings they veiled their feet, and with two wings, they did fly. And when Isaiah saw the Lord, he was so shaken up that he started confessing, Woe is me, I’m a man of unclean lips.”
There were others that saw him. Stephen saw him. The first deacon, after he was stoned, looked up toward heaven. The Bible says that he saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. What a great look that must have been to be able to look up and see the Son of God. Also the apostle Paul saw Him. He was caught up into the third heaven and when he went up he saw something he couldn’t tell anybody. And then he said he finally got a chance to see the Lord.
But there’s another. The writer of the book of Revelation saw him and described his face as the sun shining in all its brilliance. John said that when he saw him, he fell at his feet as though he was a dead man. And I like that because whenever we come into “his presence” we can’t walk around with our heads in the air as though we think we re something that we are not. Every eye shall see Him and it will be a powerful moment.
