Fixed On The Father
Psalm 57:7, 9
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
My heart is fixed. You see you can’t be wavering. You can’t be unsure about who you are. You can’t be in doubt about your salvation. No matter what anyone says, make sure your heart is fixed and your mind is made up. It is necessary for you to be on your way up.
I will praise thee. It is So important to remember to praise the Lord. David said that even while you’ve got enemies all around you and while there are lions on your trail, he said let me tell you how you can make. Just start praising the Lord. It doesn’t matter how heavy your burdens are, just praise the Lord. It doesn’t even make any difference how many enemies you have.
Maybe you’ve tried to talk to God and God didn’t answer your prayer. David tells us to just start praising him. Somebody put out a song the other day that says when praises go up then blessings start coming down. Can you see the need of praising the Lord? You say, “But preacher, you don’t know what I’m dealing with.” Just praise him anyway. “Preacher, it’s been rough on me.” Just praise him anyway. “But preacher I’ve been in storm.” But I can tell you the storm doesn’t last forever. I’m so glad the God I serve will bring you through. Won’t he do it? He will.
Many of you know what I’m talking about? You have been through some rough times, but God brought you through. You don’t mind telling somebody, “Neighbor, whatever you are dealing with, if you make sure that your heart is fixed and your mind is made up, then you’re on your way up. You can begin praising the Lord while you are still in the middle of the situation. Don’t fix yourself on the lions, but fix yourself on the one who sends from heaven and delivers you from the lions.
