For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Key scripture – “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
When we have faith we rely on the person of God and we have faith in Him. We trust that His ways are right! When we have faith we read God’s word and we say, “This is what God says, it is true, and I believe it”.
But so often our minds ju…mp in and say, “God may say that, but what I think is….” And sometimes our feelings even get in on the debate and say, “But I feel…, and I am going to do what feels good!”
You see, your reasoning comes from yourself and your feelings come from within you, and you, like me, are a fallen being. Your feelings will often deceive you. But your faith does not come from yourself. Faith comes from the interaction of your spirit with God’s Holy Spirit. Faith “is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—” (NIV).
That is why Satan will always attack you through your reason and your feelings, trying to destroy your faith.
In today’s Key scripture, God is reminding you of who He is—that He is worthy of your faith. Once you settle that, then your reason has a good place to start, with God’s Word as its foundation. As you act on your understanding of God’s Word, your feelings will begin to come along as well.
“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” (Proverbs 30:5).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, the only absolute truth is Your Word. It does not matter what I think or feel because if it goes against Your Word then I am wrong and I need to change my way of thinking. I want to see Heaven rule and Heaven overrule in my life, therefore, I will seek Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness first. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12). I want to know what You think about something and follow You, no matter how I feel or what I think, and no matter what my circumstances look like. I want Your Kingdom agenda to rule over every area of my life. I give You final authority. I know that I will see the power of Your Word in my life if I let Your Word be unleashed in me, let it soak my soul and be the basis of all my decision-making, and if I walk by Your rules of Righteousness and Truth. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8). I pray that the Holy Spirit sear my heart with Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
