Genuine Joy
Genuine Joy
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the truth. Now the truth is not something you put in a bottle and put a cork over. Nor is the truth is something you try to locate in a book or on the internet. The truth is not something you go to school and try to discover. The truth is a person. And Jesus said, “That’s who I am; I am the truth about everything.” As a matter of fact, he is the one that told us the truth about heaven. You see nobody else really told us what heaven was like except for Jesus. Abraham brought it up by saying he was looking for a city whose builder and maker is God. Paul says all of us will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. We will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.
And you know it ought to be a breath of fresh air to know that you are associated with the truth, because almost everything you get your hands on is a lie or artificial. Sometimes you don’t know what is or isn’t real. You can look at something and you think it’s the real thing, but it’s a substitute, a phony. But it’s a breath of fresh air to know that I can associate with the real person who is the way, the truth, and the life.
You cannot have real life if you don’t have Jesus. He said in John 10:10 I come that you might have life. So that means that you can be living and not really have life. You are existing; you may have two legs functioning well; you might have 20/20 vision; you can be looking pretty walking right, shaped just right, and still be dead. If you don’t have Christ in your life, you are really a corpse. But Jesus wants to remedy that situation. He says, “But I come that you might have life. And I don’t want to just give you life, I want you to have it more abundantly; I don’t want you to just have a cupful, I want your cup to run over. I want you to have joy unspeakable!” Full of life and truth.
