God is inviting you to come

Key scripture – “He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:8, NIV)
Do you want to be the kind of tree that has “no worries” in a year of drought?
Have you ever seen trees in the desert? They are usually small, gnarled, and look like they are barely hanging on. But watch what happens as you approach a stream of fresh water. As you get near the bank of the stream, the trees are suddenly tall and strong. Often there are flowers and/or fruit on the trees and the leaves are green.
What makes the difference? Their roots go down deep and draw from the water in the stream. The stream in the Key scripture represents the Word of God which has grace, mercy, hope, and joy flowing through it.
Do you delight in the law of the Lord, and meditate on it day and night?
When you realign your life and get away from those things that are putting the world’s value system into your mind, and instead, you fill your life with things that saturate your heart and mind with God’s Word, then one day you will suddenly realize that your spiritual life is healthy and thriving like a tree that is planted by streams of water. Your faith and trust in God and His Word will grow like the tree planted by a stream.
Even better, the leaves of your tree will remain green even in times of drought. You will remain spiritually healthy and strong even in tough times. You will not panic, worry, or be anxious and fearful no matter what type of problems come your way. Nor will your leaves wither because you know the promises of God’s Word.
God is inviting you to come and meet with Him as you drink in His Word, and if you do, you will never thirst again. Instead, you will yield your fruit in its season and whatever you do will prosper.
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” (Psalm 1:3).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and Jesus, Who is the Living Water. Thank You for the river of grace, mercy, hope and joy that flows through me all because of Jesus. I know rivers of living water flow through me because of what Jesus said, “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:37-38). The living water that flows in me will never run dry because the source is my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Beloved Son of the Living God who Reigns forever and ever. “Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:10-14). Father, my roots run deep in the Powerful life changing Living Water that flows through the Word of God. I will always yield my fruit in season and my leaves will never wither. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
