Have you ever been mad at God?

Key scripture- “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV).
Have you ever been mad at God? Have you ever given God the silent treatment when you are upset about something that happened or did not happen in your life?
Author, Sharon Jaynes, asks is if we have ever considered that the puncture wounds in the canvas of life — the losses, the disappointments, the crushing blows — actually become the places where you can peer beyond earthly trappings into glory moments. That those are the places where God makes His presence known.
Shattered dreams, broken relationships, tragic losses or unfulfilled longings can make it difficult to feel God’s presence, see His hand and hear His voice. However, in my experience, these glory moments are lost if we tune God out in anger.
God never leaves you even when you are mad at Him or ignore Him. He stays, and continues to work on your behalf for your good and His glory. People all throughout the Bible have voiced disappointment when God didn’t act as they’d hoped. David cried, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?” (Psalm 22:1). Even Jesus, on the cross, did not call out the comforting words of the 23rd Psalm, but the agonizing words of the 22nd, when He said, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me” (Psalm 22:1)?
Even when we complain of what we think is God’s silence or seeming indifference, God is always working behind the scenes in ways we may never understand, and one day, it will all make sense. Until then … we commit our ways to Him and we trust Him. When we have faith to keep our eyes open during the dark times, God will scatter moments of sudden glory where we can feel His presence like stars in the sky, as we hold fast and continue following Jesus even when we aren’t sure where that may lead.
If the sadness in your heart has drawn the shades and locked the doors to God’s presence, I want you to do this when you think of your problem, loss, disappointment, whatever it is that is causing you pain, I want you to stop and do what the Apostle Paul told you to do, fix your eyes not on what is seen (your circumstances, your pain), but on what is unseen (God’s presence), since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, I am hurting so bad and I am so disappointed, please open my eyes to see Your glory in this situation. I know that even when I don’t really like how my life is playing out, I will not doubt because I know that You are in control, and I will not fear because You are always good. Help me to not miss the glory moments in the difficulties of life, as each trial takes me from glory to glory. I know that Your way is perfect and Your Word is flawless. Thank You for shielding me as I take refuge in You. Open the eyes of my heart and help me to see Your glory on the background of these dark circumstances. Father, I commit my ways to You and I trust You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
