Hear Me And Help Me

Hear Me And Help Me

Psalm 57:2-3

I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

David said, “I need you to hear me.” There are some things that can happen in your life to keep God from hearing you. If you abide in sin, He will not hear you. If you want to talk to Him, you need to get it together. Don’t go to Him any kind of way because He is not just an any kind of God. You must come to Him recognizing that you are nobody and that He is somebody. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves Before you pray, you’ve got to first humble yourself and then pray.

Don’t come to Him complaining about other folk. Don’t approach Him talking about how good you are and how bad other folk are. You’ve got to come with mercy on your lips. Pray to God, “I know I’ve sinned and come short. I know I have not done the things you told me to do. I’m not pleading for justice, I’m pleading for mercy.”

Help me. Save me from the reproach that will swallow me up. Maybe you are the kind of person who has every thing in order. You’ve got your stocks and bonds where they ought to be. Your health is in good shape. You don’t need another good friend. However, I need his help. I need to start the year off by saying Lord, “If you don’t help me, I can’t stand the storms.” I need Him walking by my side. I need him to be in me and around me. I need Him in my lonely hours to dry away my tears. In my sick hours, I need His help to heal me. In my broke hours, I need Him to finance me. In my dark hours, I need his help to give me light. When I’m wrong, I need his help to put me back on the right track. When I’m confused, I need his help to regulate my mind. I need the help of the Lord.
