Influenced By The Spirit
Galatians 6:1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Ye which are spiritual. He says.” I want to talk to people who are spiritual.” Here is a description of spiritual folk. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. You are more like Christ when you have love then you are at any other time. Love brings joy. And before you can bring peace to somebody else, you’ve got to have peace yourself. If you’re messed up, you can’t help somebody else get it together. Have longsuffering, gentleness, and goodness and live by faith. It is the spiritual who are to do the work of restoring. The text didn’t say, ye which are preachers, deacons, mothers or tri-guild members. Preachers and deacons ought to be spiritual, but not all of them are. So it is the spiritual person who can achieve spiritual results.
Galatians 5:24, They that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. God doesn’t want a person who is still living in the flesh out trying to restore somebody. If you have shortcomings coming behind you, don’t try to get somebody else together. If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit. He doesn’t want any super spiritual folk, ones who talk in spiritual tones all the time, “Thank you Jesus, Hallelujah, thank you Jesus, praise the Lord, how you doing?” Let your life style and your life make a difference. It is not what comes out of your mouth, but the things that come from the heart that are important.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory. The Lord doesn’t want anybody working for Him to get name recognition. “I brought him. I brought her. It was my prayer that did it.” You don’t deserve any glory. You are only His mouthpiece. When people go around looking for glory for themselves, they aren’t about Christ. Be influenced by the Holy Spirit!
