Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

One of these days there’s going to be a great wedding. The bridegroom is on the way. It doesn’t make good sense to know He’s coming without being prepared for him to come. Everywhere we look, there are signs that say he’s coming back again. Although we’ve had many false prophets lately who predict the time of his coming, we don’t know the date. Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. The Lord said, “What I want you to do is spend some time watching. He says in 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh. It will be a time when you least expect him. While we’re hanging around fussing, arguing, and complaining, the Lord is on his way.

Notice what he says in 24:50 The Lord of that servant shall come at a day when he looketh not for Him and in that hour that he is not aware of. He could show up any time. We must be continually looking for the coming of the Lord. We must actively prepare for His coming by staying true to the faith, actively working for the Lord, keeping our hearts and minds right, and doing good. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. We must keep the hope fresh that He will come back again. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with a voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive, and remain shall be caught up together with them in the cloud to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. There must be personal preparation.
