The Sanctuary Above
Psalms 150:1
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him in the firmament of his power. God has another church that’s not on earth. He says He has one in heaven.
There are some folk already up there that you used to know. They didn’t stop shouting just because they left here. Momma is somewhere shouting now. Grandpapa is over there shouting today. God wants to connect His heavenly church with His earthly church. I am referring to Hebrews 12:1 which states, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses.” In other words he’s saying the folk in heaven are watching us. Since the folk in heaven are praising Him, He wants them to be connected to the folks on earth that are praising Him.
God says, I’ve got some folk on earth who are praising me. “I’ve got some folk down here who know they’ve been washed in the blood of the Lamb. They know they’ve been sanctified, set aside for a special purpose.” And the only difference between you and the folk up there is that we just haven’t made the transfer. The ones down here are just as saved as the ones up there, because you have accepted Christ as your savior. John 5:24 says he that believes on him as the scriptures have said has everlasting life. So that means I’m walking down here, but I’ve got everlasting life and the only thing that’s holding me back is this old body. And sooner or later it’s going back to the dust. And when it goes back to the dust, I’ll be free to shout all day and all night and all day again.
So he says, “I’ve got a sanctuary below. And I have a sanctuary above. I want to connect the folk down here with the ones up there. I want a unified worship. I want the folk in heaven to join those on earth and praise me together.” Psalm 19:1 tells us the heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handy work.
