Thinking God’s Way

Romans 12:1-2

I Beseech you therefore, Brethren, By the mercies of God, that ye present your Bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: But Be ye transformed By the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

How do I know His will? I have a son who is thirty years of age who I believe loves me. He’s still obedient to his father. Let’s assume I say, “Now Junior, I got something I want you to do; do it before sundown. If you don’t, I’m going to box your head.” He says, “All right Daddy, since you put it that way, I’ll go on and do it.” When he asks me to tell him what I want him to do I could say, “I’m not going to tell you, figure it out for yourself!” Now, it wouldn’t be right for me to tell my boy that I want him to do something but not to tell him what I want him to do. Well God has more sense than I have. If God wants us to do something, don’t you know, God has enough sense to tell us what He wants us to do.

The Bible will show us how to understand God’s will. First you must present your body to Him. Your body is near and dear to God. You need to give your body over to the Lord. Next, you must separate yourself from the world’s way of thinking. Don’t let the world dictate your lifestyle or influence your decisions. Then you must be transformed. Let a change take place in your mind and your life. A tadpole starts off in the mud but through metamorphosis, becomes a frog. The frog likes to hang around clear water and sit on a log singing his own praises to God. Let go of the stagnant environment of gossip envy, and hatred and move into a clean way of living.

After you have presented your body to God, separated yourself from the world, and been transformed with a new way of thinking, then God can reveal His will to you.
