When To Sacrifice

Genesis 22:2

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Take now thy son. When is the right time to sacrifice? Do it now. You see the delayed sacrifice in most cases is denied sacrifice. Have you ever talked yourself out of doing something for the Lord? You knew you needed to do it. You knew it was right to do it, but you kept reasoning with yourself. You kept talking to yourself until finally you convinced yourself to delay it over and over again. But did you know faith is a now movement? Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is.” It seems like he could have said now or is. However, the words are: now faith is. If you missed the now you’ve got the is. So when should I make the sacrifice? He said do it now.

Well why should we do it now? There is a good answer. The reason you just do it now is because now is the only time you have. A whole lot of people would have good jobs if they had moved when the spirit told them. Many would be operating their own businesses. Instead, you kept on talking yourself out of it. A lot of you could have degrees right now, but you kept convincing yourself that you would do it the next semester, and next semester, and next semester. Before you knew it, gray hairs were all on your head, and then you were ashamed to go as an old person.

So when, you get ready to make a sacrifice do it now. Have you convinced yourself that you are going to get it together with God next year? Next year I’m going to get it right with God. But can I let you in on a little secret? Next year is not promised to you. I don’t really know how long I’m going to live, So I’m doing all I can now. God wants us to make sacrifices for Him just as He did so for us. Now!
