Who you follow in your daily life?

Key scripture – “Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.” (James 1:21).

In your daily life (work, class, personal and family life), do you make decisions based on what God’s Word says, or do you use the worlds grids and patterns? If someone were to ask your counsel on how to make a good decision, what would you say?

A prevalent strategy that Satan seeks to introduce into your life is to get you to leave the kingdom rule of Jesus Christ and come back over to his. Much of this happens through the division of the secular and the sacred. This is done when you attend and participate in church under one kingdom, then you go out into the world Monday to Saturday and function there under the influence of another kingdom and you separate God and His Word from your work, personal life, and family life.

You might do a Bible study in one kingdom, then do your socializing under the influence of the worldview of the other kingdom, which is Satan’s domain, because you separate God and His Word from your social life and your entertainment.

Essentially, when you flip-flop kingdoms depending on the activity you are participating in, or the day of the week, you do not fully actualize or experience the victory and rule that comes with the abundant life in Christ.

Satan ends up ruling our lives because we are yielding the power to him—not by way of any rightful authority that he has, but simply because of a failure to align our thoughts and decisions under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. By not giving Jesus Christ the proper place in your home, church, work, relationships, entertainment choices, and whatever else you are doing, you lose the full presence of His covering.

Starting today, let Jesus rule all areas of your life every day of your life, and you will be amazed at how your life will change for the better when you become a full time follower of Christ instead of part time.

Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, I do not want to be a follower of Christ only on Sundays, or only when it seems convenient to me. I realize that for me to be a true follower of Jesus Christ, Jesus needs to be Lord over all of my life. I give You my life, and all my thoughts, and actions – they are Yours to guide and direct forevermore. Let me be a follower who knows and honors You every moment of my life. I want Your Kingdom Agenda to rule and overrule everything in my life. Lord, I want to be, “The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:1-5). Teach me and show me through the Holy Spirit how to live like a Psalm 15 Christian. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
