Wrong Conclusions

  Laura Ingle ·

Key scripture -“The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:11-12).

We must submit our reasoning to the One who sees the end from the beginning!

One of our biggest problems is we can’t see “the end”. We can’t see where the roads we take, the choices we make, the values we adopt, will lead us. We don’t know how the actions and sins of others will interact with our own and what the result will be.

Many wrong conclusions have been arrived at because we reason from only some of the facts. That is why it is foolish to think that we can effectively direct our own lives purely by our own reason and intellect. God wants you to use your intellect, but in today’s Key scripture He is reminding you that your intellect is limited by so many factors and He is limited by nothing.

The wisest way to order your life is to submit it to the One who loves you sacrificially and to trust it to the One who understands all things, who already sees “the end” of all your actions and other people’s actions, because He is already there, at “the end”!

So how do we do that? Pray, ask God for wisdom and direction in your life, and stand firm on the promises of God which are listed below, claim them as your own, then picture them already taking place in your life:

1. I will rejoice always, pray unceasingly and give thanks.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

2. I believe all of God’s promises.

“God is not a man, so he does not lie, he is not human so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Or has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19 NLT).

3. I will not fear because God is with me.

“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

“The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me.” (Psalm 118:6).

4.I will be strong and courageous and stand firm with confidence.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NIV).

5. I will not doubt because God is always in control.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3: 5-6).

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.” (Psalm 37:5-6).

6. I will not despair. God is always good, He is kindness and love.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28 NLT)

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8 NIV).

“I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” (Psalm 37:25).

7. I will not falter because God has redeemed me.

“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” (Isaiah 43:1- NLT).

8. I will not fail. God is always victorious. I will wait for His victory.

“No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment, I shall prove to be wrong. This is the heritage of the servants of The Lord, and this is their vindication from me, declares The Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17).

10. God is my sufficiency. God will restore in my life what the locust have eaten.

“The Lord says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you. Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced.” (Joel 2:25-26 NLT).

You also need to remember that God is El Elyon – The Most High. He is on top of all of the chaos, problems and confusion in your life. He sees everything from beginning to end, therefore, go before Him and say, “Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name, You are El Elyon and I’m in a mess down here, I do not know what to do, but I know that You have it all under control, You see the beginning and the end, so I’m just gonna let you take care of it. I’m gonna let you handle it.”

Pray this – Our Precious Heavenly Father, Hallowed be Your Name, You are El Elyon, teach me how to trust You fully and follow You faithfully. Forgive me for wanting to see the end no matter where I am in the journey. Help me instead to focus on the fact that You have promised that You will never forsake or abandon me, that You have it under control, and that Your plans for me are for good not evil, for a future and hope. When I do get anxious about what is happening in my life, I will stop and remember that I am resting in Your arms beneath the shadow of Your wings and I am completely protected and safe. Father, I will not fret when I see evil people succeeding in their ways and when they carry out their wicked schemes because like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. (Psalm 37:1-2). I trust in You, Lord, therefore, I am like Mount Zion and I cannot be shaken or destroyed. (Psalm 125:1). Thank You Father that You are always with me and that the Righteous will never be forsaken. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
